Meet Victor
My Story
I’m an educator, researcher, and curriculum leader with more than 20 years of experience improving teaching and learning in public schools.
I began my career as a high school science teacher, where I saw firsthand how policy decisions shape classrooms. Since then, I’ve worked as a Professor of STEM Education at The University of Texas at Austin, led large-scale research and curriculum initiatives, and partnered with teachers and districts across Texas and the country.
My research focuses on helping students learn how to think, investigate, and solve problems—not just memorize information. I’ve helped design curriculum, professional learning, and instructional tools used by educators nationwide.
I believe deeply in public education, local communities, and the power of teachers and students. I’m running to ensure that education decisions in Texas are made by people who understand learning—and who believe in what our public schools can become.
